ATWOOD LAKE:  Atwood Lake, another one of the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District lakes is a reservoir located in Tuscarawas and Carroll counties in east central Ohio. The lake is formed by Atwood Dam across Indian Fork, a tributary of Conotton Creek.  Atwood Lake has 1,540 surface acres, surrounded by 2,500 acres of land with 28 miles of shoreline. Restricted to boats with motors of 25 hp or less makes it one of the top lakes for sailing and pleasure boating and offers 3 public launch ramps.  Recreation facilities include a marina, swimming, park and playground plus camping areas. An easy drive from Akron and Cleveland makes it a great close getaway vacation area.

CLENDENING LAKE: Clendening Lake is the largest undeveloped lake in Ohio making it a perfect back-to-nature experience far from crowds yet close to home.  Located in southwestern Harrison County off Rt. 799 and Rt. 800, this reservoir is yet another wonderful lake that is part of the MWCD.  With a 10 hp limit Clendening is ideal for great fishing and solitude.  Mostly long, narrow, and winding, Clendening offers 1,702 acres of water surface surrounded by 4,800 acres of land  with 35.5 miles of shoreline. PIEDMONT LAKE: Piedmont Lake is considered by many to be the most scenic of all the MWCD lakes.  It is set in rough, hilly terrain, most of which is heavily wooded. Few buildings are visible throughout its entire length of approximately 10 miles.  With 2,270 acres of water surface and 4,416 acres of land it is considered one of the state’s top fishing lakes for muskie, bass, and saugeye. The existing state record for muskellunge was taken from this lake. The 10 hp limit of this lake makes it ideal for fishing, swimming and kick back relaxation.  Located in Belmont and Harrison Counties on State Route 22 midway between Cadiz and Cambridge, Ohio 10 miles north of I-70. Piedmont Lake has a marina providing boat rental, campgrounds, motel, and updated restaurant as well as public launch ramps for you and your boat as well as swimming and hiking.  Possum Lodge Cabins is just one minute by car from the dam end of Piedmont Lake and about 5 minutes from the Piedmont Marina.
